Corporate philosophy

Toray Medical Co., Ltd., a member of the Toray Group, specializes in the healthcare field. Our primary goal is to contribute to society by providing advanced, high quality medical devices and pharmaceutical products.

Since its establishment in 1980, Toray Medical has been committed to offering our customers the finest quality and most advanced healthcare products. We began as a sales company with only 40 employees, marketing Filtryzer® artificial kidneys developed by Toray Industries, Inc. (TORAY). Through the ensuing years, we have expanded our business to include a wider range of medical devices, including specialty catheters such as the Inoue Balloon designed for the treatment of mitral stenosis, the pharmaceutical Feron®, a natural interferon-β preparation, ToraymyxinR blood purifiers for emergency and ICU use, and various disposable products such as surgical gloves.

Today, Toray Medical's 500 employees are engaged in various endeavors in Japan and overseas, including the development of new technologies, bringing overseas technologies to Japan, and marketing research and support through academic and documentation studies. Along with TORAY’s medical products, we have expanded our line with high quality products manufactured by companies outside of the Toray Group. Many of these products were designed and developed under the initiative of our company to satisfy the needs of our customers.

Business circumstances remain challenging due to the overall healthcare budget cuts in Japan and other countries. Working closely with Toray Group and other key manufacturers, we will continue to grow and innovate in order to bring the finest quality, advanced healthcare products to our customers around the globe.
